What’s a Communications and Social Media Project Leader?
I handle the strategy and planning behind all organic content published on BonLook’s various social platform accounts. This includes, among other things, researching new trends, monitoring media, creating content, and organizing photoshoots. A large part of my job consists in developing media relations campaigns with influencers and content creators, among others.
What does a typical workday look like for you?
A typical workday usually involves doing a lot of follow-ups in connection with an influence campaign, an upcoming photoshoot, a new collection launch or potential collaborations. A big part of my day is generally spent planning content and looking for inspiration.
What led you to pursue a career in social media?
I’ve always been interested in cultural trends and media, so I pursued Communications and Media Studies at Concordia University in Montreal. After a year of working as a Community Manager for Canadian meal kit service Cook it, I tried my hand at an agency, and finally found in BonLook a local business that aligns with my love of fashion (and my astigmatism!).
Where do you find inspiration?
In terms of social media, I love to get inspired by Mejuri’s unparalleled content.
How do you like to keep up with trends?
In my opinion, TikTok is the best way to keep up with trends whether we’re talking fashion, food, music, or anything really! It’s where I go to find new things to try both for work and outside of work.
What is your creative process?
I don’t really have one. I just save every piece of content that speaks to me, so I can go back to it later and this usually helps me find new ideas.
What surprised you most about your field of work?
That I could actually get paid to scroll through TikTok. Just kidding… or am I?
